چکیده

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of dietary protein source (fishmeal, FM; or plant-feedstuffs, PF) and protein/carbohydrate (P/CH) ratio on gilthead seabream appetite regulation intermediary metabolism. Additionally, sampling 5 h after feeding (AF) compared 24 AF was also evaluated. Four isolipidic diets were formulated having as major sources FM PF (20% 80% PF), P/CH ratios 50/10 40/20, being pregelatinized maize starch main carbohydrate (diets FM-P50/CH10; FM-P40/CH20; PF-P50/CH10; PF-P40/CH20). Diets fed until satiation 140 g for 41 days. The expression genes assessed at AF, while other evaluated parameters only AF. Liver leptin higher brain receptor ( lepr ) Brain cocaine- amphetamine-regulated transcript cart ), ghrelin ghrr )- a liver ghrr-b affected by time, but effects dependent diet provided. FM-based promoted (at AF), growth hormone ghr -ii , increased plasma cholesterol total lipids levels. Fish PF-based had glycogen content, number size adipocytes, hepatic fatty acid synthase glucokinase target rapamycin . Regarding ratio, fish P50/CH10 presented feed efficiency, triglycerides, intestine cholecystokinin glutamate dehydrogenase ghr-ii efficiency hepatosomatic visceral indices, plasmatic glucose level, AF) in P40/CH20 diets. majority related-genes not use diets, CH seemed lead shorter satiety sensation. lipid deposition, hypocholesterolemia, activation glycogenesis pathway, content induced an increase that appeared be stored lipids. In conclusion, with up 20% can used without compromising performance FI, slightly modifying metabolic parameters. • ghrr-a time. Response took more time induced. High CH-diets did affect FI expression.

Gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata L.) innate immune response after dietary administration of heat-inactivated potential probiotics.

The effects of the dietary administration of two heat-inactivated whole bacteria from the Vibrionaceae family, singly or combined, on innate immune response of the seabream were studied. The two bacteria (Pdp11 and 51M6), which were obtained from the skin of gilthead seabream, showed in vitro characteristics that suggested they could be considered as potential fish probiotics. The fish were fed...

Gluconeogenic enzyme gene expression is decreased by dietary carbohydrates in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata).

Our objective is to understand the low metabolic utilization of dietary carbohydrates in fish. We compared the regulation of gluconeogenic enzymes at a molecular level in two fish species, the common carp (Cyprinus carpio) and gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata), known to be relatively tolerant to dietary carbohydrates. After cloning of partial cDNA sequences for three key gluconeogenic enzymes (...

Feeding time synchronises daily rhythms of behaviour and digestive physiology in Gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata)

Feeding cycles entrain biological rhythms, which enabling animals to anticipate feeding times and so maximize food utilization. In this article the effect of mealtime on locomotor activity, blood glucose, gastric pH and digestive enzymes was studied in two groups of seabream (Sparus aurata): one group received a single daily meal at random times either during the light and the dark period (rand...

Environmental Conditioning of Skeletal Anomalies Typology and Frequency in Gilthead Seabream (Sparus aurata L., 1758) Juveniles

In this paper, 981 reared juveniles of gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) were analysed, 721 of which were from a commercial hatchery located in Northern Italy (Venice, Italy) and 260 from the Hellenic Center for Marine Research (Crete, Greece). These individuals were from 4 different egg batches, for a total of 10 different lots. Each egg batch was split into two lots after hatching, and reared...
